I'm just in the process of building this website, and when you understand that a #2 pencil is high tech for me you'll know why this is slow and clumsy. I have a lot more paintings to add, about music and portraits of people and dogs. They're coming, sooner or later.
I am a retired High School Art teacher (31 years). Before that I worked full time as an artist doing the shows, exhibitions, sidewalk markets, the whole bit. There is truth in the trope, "The teacher learns more than he student", so my education continued and continues still.

I try to paint as much about the music as the musician. In portraits of people or dogs I try to bring some life to the painting by adding some subtle bits of bright color that a camera can't capture.
"By Lake Andrew", acrylic, 10X12, 2014.
Even in bleak mid-winter the woods have a lot of color especially when contrasted with the white of the snow, which is rarely white except in the sunny spots. The oaks keep their leaves through the winter and add some richness so hints of autumn warm the scene a bit.
This painting was exhibited in a juried show at St. Cloud State U.
"Sibley Park #29, Noon at Mid-winter.
Acrylic on panel, 16X20, 2017.
In mid-winter, even at noon, the sun is low and the shadows are long.
This painting was exhibited in a national juried show in Fulton, MO.
